Pro Bono

David’s significant pro bono work has focused on justice reform and executive clemency. He has advocated on behalf of individuals from all walks of life, backgrounds and ethnicities, as well as in support of meaningful justice reform.

As a result of going to trial or because of draconian sentencing laws, individuals may be sentenced to decades (or even life) in prison – sometimes leaving young children without a parent to care for them. David’s successful executive clemency efforts have supported the release of several deserving individuals.

“My son was 14, and my daughter was 11, when I went to prison in 2017. My life, and my entire family, were completely shattered . . . David worked incessantly, without pay, to support my clemency efforts. I know that my case lived deep in his heart . . . words cannot express the gratitude that I feel for [David] . . . I hope he understands that his efforts will be forever in my heart, and in the hearts of [my children]." - Federal Clemency Recipient.

“I am eternally grateful to [David] . . . with each day of freedom that I now experience – each of my children’s smiles that I am there to witness, each birthday that I am there to celebrate, each scraped knee that I am there to bandage – this gratitude continues to grow. It is something that will stay dear to my heart and central to my thoughts for the rest of my life.” - Federal Clemency Recipient.

“My case was symptomatic of the disparate, draconian, and often unjust impact of drug conspiracy laws on the significant others – primarily women – of drug traffickers . . . David has already helped make an impact in the lives of many individuals . . ..” - Federal Clemency Recipient and Justice Advocate.
